We Are The Dreamers Review →
There comes a point when an artist makes the choice between staying local and keeping music as a side hobby or pursuing it full time. 2011 was the year that Tiffany Thompson would set out from the metro area and explore living life as a musician full-time. Having spent the last couple of years making a name for herself in the D.C. area, Thompson took her show on the road.

Mission, Music and Europe
I had the honor of spending most of October 2011 in Europe, sharing my music with people in Budapest, Prague, Berlin, London and Cambridge. The experience has changed me to be sure, and I tried to capture many of the special memories on video to share with you. So I hope you enjoy my two part documentary of the journey.

Read My Interview on The Talking Mirror →
… Who is Tiffany Thompson? Well, first and foremost, she is a graduate of Wheaton College. That alone should be sufficient evidence of her excellence as a person and worth as an interview subject, but for those of you who need more (i.e. Moody graduates and Dutch people) we should also mention that Miss. Thompson happens to be a kickass singer/songwriter.

What do you hope to accomplish at SXSW?
I submitted my application to SXSW last night, and was surprised by one of their questions: What do you hope to accomplish at SXSW? I wrote out a few different answers, ranging from very flowery to totally business; and in the end submitted the following paragraph. Somehow it keeps coming back to community.
For me, it’s incredible satisfying when that music is shared with a community and even...

Good Times in Austin
This past week I return to Austin—one of my past hometown—for six days of music, community and concerts. I kicked off my trip with back-to-back shows at Flipnotics Coffeespace and Romeo’s Grill on Wednesday, Sept 14. The Flipnotics show started off slow, but then two guys with a mandolin and banjo jumped up with me and playedthree songs! The good times started. The Romeo’s show...

Going Back To Austin Sept. 14-20!
In case you didn’t know, I’m a Southern Girl. Well, I’m also a Mid-West Girl, a East Coast Girl, and a Russian Girl, but I did spend 7 years living and learning in Austin, TX. I recorded my first two records, Unblinded and Seemingly Fine in that city with my good friend Josh Bronleewe, and I am so looking forward to returning next week.
You may ask, how does one go about...

New Website!
I’ve launched a new website at www.tiffanythompsonmusic.com. The main thing I would like to highlight is the Store page. It’s powered by an amazing company, DailyDigital.com, and provides a whole new way of engaging with an artist’s multifaceted content: music, videos, pictures, and blogs seamlessly synced. Check it out!

Thank you to Anne Snyder for sharing this with me.
I aspire to be someone that creates music with and for community. Imogen Heap is doing that in such amazing ways, and I could not help but post this video. I hope it as inspirational for you as it was for me. - Tiff

2 Weeks in Nashville: New Songs, New Influences,...
I spent 2 amazing weeks in Nashville, TN this month, soaking up music, learning how to write with others, exploring the limits of my voice and building new relationships. One of my friends recently sent me a note saying, “when you re-pot something, it always looks a bit dwarfed by the container in the beginning… a little foolish…until it grows into, and eventually out of, those new...

The Birchmere: A Five-Year Wait
The first time I entered The Birchmere was to see a band dear to my heart—Over the Rhine. I loved the table/chair set-up, clear sound system, listening audience and story-telling environment. Over the Rhine captivated the room, as usual, and planted a seed in my heart that I would love to perform on that stage someday. That was June 9, 2006.
Tonight, almost 5 years later, I am honored to be...

The Vision
Music is a passport, bridge-builder, moment-maker, tear-jerker and voice-giver. Music is the where I deep dive into life, emotion, dreams, fears and joy. It’s also where I learn what’s really going on inside my heart, as the stories, songs, minors and majors take shape. During high school, I simply used the 4 chords I knew to put my poems to music. College brought much fodder for the creative...

Tiffany at Rockwood Music Hall in NYC →
This will be my first show in New York City, and I am really looking forward to it! Rockwood Music Hall is just a wonderful space and a great place to drop in for a pre-dinner hang. I’ll be playing on April 16, a Saturday, at 6pm. If you don’t live in New York, but know someone who does - feel free to pass this Tumbl along. ;-)
